IntelliMagic, innovator in intelligent IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) software, announced support for INFINIDAT® InfiniBox® systems. IntelliMagic Vision for SAN is vendor-independent and supports storage systems from all the major brands and models. This enables a single pane of glass on the IT application infrastructure monitoring performance, configuration and capacity.
IntelliMagic Vision for SAN is an ITOA performance and capacity management product that utilizes artificial intelligence techniques to expose the inner workings of the storage infrastructure to prevent performance incidents that may impact application availability. In the 8.14.9 release, besides other enhancements, IntelliMagic added support for INFINIDAT InfiniBox systems.
Working with INFINIDAT engineering during development enabled IntelliMagic to provide industry-leading support for INFINIDAT InfiniBox platforms. The support includes extensive integration with the VMware and Fabric support providing the user a true end-to-end view of the infrastructure. There are a ton of new things that make this support unique but here are a few highlights:
- Dynamic thresholds identify when the system workload is nearing the throughput limits based on the read/write mixture and the number of active ports.
- End-to-end latency from the host to the storage system with drill-downs from the storage system to the hosts and their volumes.
- Rating performance of the storage ports based on the amount of time spent at the ports. This allows the user to see if congestion exists on the front-end host ports.
- Balance analysis identifies imbalances on the front-end ports that are critical for managing the efficient scalability of the INFINIDAT InfiniBox.
