IntelliMagic, innovator in vendor-independent intelligent IT Operations Analytics (ITOA) software, announced support for Huawei OceanStor systems.
Huawei OceanStor Dorado V3 series and OceanStor F V5/V5series provide a wide range of all-flash and hybrid-flash storage products that speed up digital transformation for critical business across different industries, scales, and scenarios. According to the third party authoritative advisory report, the sales revenue growth rate of Huawei’s all-flash storage products is leading the market worldwide. By adding Huawei OceanStor support, another important platform is now supported in IntelliMagic Vision for SAN. This includes integration with the existing storage, VMware, and Fabric support, providing a true end-to-end view of the infrastructure: all the way from the hosts down via the switches to the storage systems and their internal components.
IntelliMagic Vision for SAN uses built-in expert knowledge and artificial intelligence techniques to analyze the health of the entire SAN infrastructure. Through its broad coverage of platforms, it can be used as a single pane of glass to monitor performance, configuration and capacity of the IT application infrastructure. This prevents performance incidents that can impact application availability.
Working with Huawei engineering during development enabled IntelliMagic to provide industry leading support for Huawei OceanStor. Besides the unified, cross-vendor view that IntelliMagic Vision offers, in-depth architecture-specific rules are developed for each supported platform. For Huawei OceanStor, thresholds and ratings were added to identify whether the entire system or a particular component is nearing its limit. These thresholds are based on system and component throughput limits, architectural and configuration details, and measurements such as ‘time spent at port’. This means that any risk of congestion will show up as an early warning in IntelliMagic Vision before it impacts performance or availability. The special Balance Analysis identifies imbalances on the front-end ports, which is critical for managing the efficient scalability of the Huawei OceanStor.
“It was a pleasure for our team to work with Huawei”, says Gilbert Houtekamer, Founder and Managing Director of IntelliMagic. “Huawei is one of the fastest growing companies in the external storage market and has a large presence in many regions world-wide.
