Most Oracle VSM’s have a buffer or cache that is used to temporarily hold a tape volume’s data. This video shows how IntelliMagic Vision can be used to determine how that buffer capacity is being used and what percent of the tape reads are buffer hits which give better mount performance. These are broken down by VSM Management Classes since you generally expect different workload characteristics from different management classes.
